Societies Innocence
Red, red, red like roses
Our hearts beat like a drum
Bodies set into poses
Whispers saying you're numb
Lost comprehension of lies
As souls cripples things they do
We've turned into what dies
Only they know the how to
Breaking with apprehension
Watch as love and hate mix
This isn't a form of ascension
Over time we learn the tricks
Red, red, red we bleed
Saws and axes aren't toys
No warnings to heed
This is reality's twisted joys
People scream monster, monster
But they don't know who they are
Inside is a monster, monster
Each second raising the blame bar
No one can accept anyone
At some point we “grew up”
No longer do we play, have fun
No we didn't grow up
We rotted inside our hallow cores
We died the moment we tried to speak
Always denied as children the “more”
Its society that turned itself weak
Death, decay, endless sadness
This is the life we live
Its enough to drive anyone to madness
Nothing left in us to give
Fragments of a cracked mirror
We seem like spoiled kids
But its not that, not even near
Its the what the parents wanted rid
We are a powerful foe
If only we felt safe enough to speak
We break each other like pros
Shattering is what we reap
